Challenge

Our client is the UK’s market-leading structural steel company, offering world class engineering and design excellence. They are one of the largest structural steel business in the UK, employing 1,400 people. For decades they have been shaping skylines and delivering the modern built environment.

This project involved delivering a new, complex structure to house Glasgow’s Transport Museum. Designed by Zaha Hadid, the structure encompasses a zig-zagging, zinc-clad roof and has a 36-metre-high glazed frontage overlooking the River Clyde. T J Hazell were the chosen partner of choice due to our proven record in delivering large, complex structures in a dependable manner. We have strong working relationships based upon co-operative working in developing detail solutions and reacting to shifting project requirements with our clients.

Solution

For this project we worked collaboratively with the client’s Project Management Team to form a suitable solution. Our strong, proven skill set in handling 3D models from varying software packages, both importing and exporting across platforms whilst maintaining control over the information flow, ensured a precise and expertly delivered solution.

Results

This project required careful and consistent handling of information, which was received in various formats. We successfully delivered detail fabrication drawings for this project with minimal site issues.
